Blogfight Armaggedon: Tony Austin (and Sarah Gjerstad) vs John Leonard

Tony Austin never shies away from a fight. So when John Leonard went on the offensive after Tony referenced a blog post that questioned ASCA's legitimacy, Tony dug in. Since then Tony has received a series of what he deems "threatening" e-mails from Leonard, the lot of which he promises to post today at 12 pm ET on his blog. This should be good.

Here it is! Our first ad!

This is a sneak peek at the first commercial for The Swim Brief to air on Universal Sports.  Of course, it is still in production and our logo and text hasn't been added yet, but I am sure you can see how what we have filmed so far captures what all of our readers feel when they log in to our site.  Thank you to all of our sponsors for helping us to be able to afford some real daytime TV talent.

What Does Jim Tressel Have To Do With Swimming?

Jim Tressel resigned from his position of Head Coach, Ohio State Football this morning. You might wonder what the hell this has to do with swimming. Sit tight while I explain.

Tony Austin Battles with John Leonard Over ASCA's Legitimacy

A few days ago, we linked to a blog post from Tony Austin's SCAQ blog. In it Tony referenced another blog that had been investigating ASCA (American Swim Coaches Association) as a result of a proposed San Antonio aquatics complex that would use local tax revenue. The accusation in the blog was startling- that ASCA was not in fact incorporated in the United States.

Since then, things have gotten considerably more heated.

Nick Folker, The Swimming Strength Coach

This is part 3 in a continuing series of reports from the CSCAA conference May 19-21 in San Diego, California. For part 1 "Salo Taught me a Butt Dive", click here. For Part 2 Frank Busch: "If You Have a Problem, Call me", click here.

Nearly every coach in the room was insanely jealous. In front of us stood Nick Folker: cool, confident and speaking with an awesome South African accent. If you thought he looked more like an elite sprint freestyler than a strength coach, it's because he does. Folker had us at "hello", and for several reasons.
